Overview

The Avira AntiVir Virus Scan Adapter detects and removes malware (e.g. viruses, Trojans, backdoors, worms, exploits, macro and script viruses, adware/spyware), even if they are in complex file formats such as archives, email or mailbox formats, zipped runtime programs or Office formats. It works together with three functions provided by SAP VSI, with the aid of which documents and data can be made available and exchanged and are therefore particularly relevant for security: “GUI_ UPLOAD” (upload of files in SAP-GUI), “FILE_UPLOAD” (upload of files with WebDynpro for JAVA) and “GET_DATA/HTTP_Upload” (BSP = Business Server Page) file upload. All data that is exchanged between SAP applications with the aid of these functions either via the SAP-GUI or via the SAP Enterprise Portal or that enter the SAP system from the outside, is previously scanned by the Avira AntiVir VSA for possible infections by viruses or other malware. They are only released when it has been verified that no infection exists.

The AntiVir VSA is characterized by an extremely high processing speed with low system load and is the ideal virus and malware protection component for SAP NetWeaver-based application, communication and interaction platforms under Windows or UNIX that are designed for a very high data transaction volume.
